Magazine Contents Page

    

• For my contents page I dedicated the top to my main band.
• I used the line tool to separate the pictures from the page numbers.            

                    

• I also decided to use band pictures because many other music magazines use these.
• I used the fonts: 'shonen punk v2' + 'a bite.'
• I used the stroke effect to make the font stand out.

Music Magazine Double Page Spread

For my double page spread I used an almost 'cartoony' theme with the fonts.

• The colour scheme is grey, green and black. With a few white blocks.
• For the band name I used, 'Brad.' and made it green with a black outline so it stood out.

• I used the line tool to section each part off.
• The interview was a small size and the font was, 'skullTypeW00.'
• I used the font, 'dinstik' for sub-titles of each section.
• For the band profiles I decided to keep the band member in colour and make the background grey by using photoshop. All I did was make each picture black and white, then went to Layer > Layer Mask > Hide All tool and used a mask to bring out the colour of each person.

• I used the box tool to create black boxes. I also used this tool to make each grey section.

Music Magazine Front Cover

      

• Above are two colour schemes for my front cover.  I chose the left for my final.
• I used the fonts, 'a bite' + 'Brad' + 'Shonen punk!'
• I edited the main picture by changing the contrast and brightness.

        

• I edited the main title by giving it a dark green border.
• I used the 'Stroke' effect for most of my fonts.

      

• I used a glow effect on many of my fonts.
• I also used black boxes on the bottom and the top for sell lines.

Finished School Front Cover + Contents Draft

• I used the gradient tool to make the background.
• I imported different photos I'd taken into my magazine front cover.
• I had to cut around the edge of the student so that he didn't have a background.
• I installed three different fonts on my cover; cheeseburger, aaaiight! fat and BadaBoom BB.
• I used different font effects such as an outer glow and a stroke to emphasis my masthead and headings.
• I used the shape of an explosion to emphasize something the students could win.

• For my photoshoot I went to Joyden's Wood.
• Above are some of the photos I took that I will be using.

• I also edited an image I took to be an album cover for my double page spread.

Questionnaire Results

• I had to create and hand out some questionnaires asking questions about music magazines.
• I then put my results into pie charts and wrote about them.

Music Magazine Proposal + Time Plan

• I had to write up a proposal stating some of the cover lines, sell lines and other ideas that I would be using for my front cover, contents page and double page spread.
• I also made a time plan for the photoshoot I would be using for my music magazine.

• I had to go out and take pictures of the school for my pre task.

Website Analysis

• I had to analyze two different music magazine websites.
• I decided to do the ones that my front cover magazine were from.
• I had to talk about the features of each website and what it has that the magazines don't have.

Magazine Front Cover Analysis

• I had to analyze 2 magazine covers.
• I decided to do two that had Paramore on the front since I wanted my band to be like them.

Picture Sequence

• We had to go out with cameras and take a picture sequence.
• I grabbed a few friends and made them pose for a fight sequence.
• I then placed them onto a powerpoint and marked them out of 5 for each point.
